Hi, I'm Monica.
I'm a Counselling Psychologist with a Master’s degree in Applied Psychology (Clinical), PG Dip. in Guidance & Counselling, and another Master's in Criminology.
I believe that effectiveness of therapy relies on the collaborative relationship that we build together. Hence, my approach involves providing a safe, non-judgmental, holding space, where you feel seen and heard.

In my personal life I bring in the same sentiment. I like to spend time with close ones, on the lookout for quick recipes, and find joy in simple rituals like preparing myself a warm beverage.
I have worked with children-at-risk, adolescents and adults with a range of psychological concerns. My past work experience also includes team leadership, management, advocacy and training on the prevention of ‘Child Sexual Abuse’ and ‘Juvenile Delinquency’ across India. As a result, my work experience is diverse and informed by an intersection of Sociology and Psychology. I remain curious to learn how systemic injustices pave way for mental health concerns.
My Orientation
I ground my work in the belief that ‘self’ is relational in nature. We are an embodiment of our histories, geographies, our interpersonal relations and how we view ourselves. People are multifaceted, with some aspects being hidden, and some expressed; it is the integration of these that may contribute to our mental health and overall well-being.

I draw from the principles of different schools of thought:

Psychodynamic school of thought, looks at the meanings you’ve held from your earlier childhood experiences that contribute to the ways in which you think, feel and behave in the present.

Cognitive school wherein we attempt to observe your current thinking patterns and their role in your daily experiences of living.

Body Centric approach which focuses on mind-body connection to treatment and bridges the gap between ‘thinking’ and ‘feeling’. Thereby, attempting to soothe distressing emotions.

My Scope of Psychological Support : I primarily work with people who are facing difficulty in regulating their emotions, experiencing changes in mood, difficulty navigating their interpersonal relationships, adjustment issues amongst other stressors. Also, individuals who are wondering whether they want to start therapy.
